Our History

1953

Company Founded

Ed Ouellet founded the company in Charlestown, Massachusetts, focusing on replacing and washing air filters to improve indoor air quality.

1969

Expansion into Liquid Filtration

The company broadened its expertise to include liquid filtration, diversifying services and enhancing solutions for both air and liquid systems.

1974

Growth into Connecticut

Operations expanded into Connecticut, and the company acquired the West Haven facility, increasing capacity and serving a wider regional customer base.

1995

Entered Cleanroom Market

The company entered the cleanroom design and construction business, providing specialized air filtration solutions for highly controlled and critical environments.

1997

Acquisition of Environmental Filter Company

Environmental Filter Company in Woburn, Massachusetts, was acquired, strengthening manufacturing capabilities and expanding distribution of high-quality air filtration products.

2004

Headquarters Relocation

The company relocated its headquarters to Burlington, Massachusetts, centralizing operations to support growth and better serve customers throughout the region.

Alan Ouellet has been with Filter Sales & Service since 1975. With decades of experience and a deep understanding of the air filtration world, Alan has helped shape not just the company, but the standards it's built on. His steady leadership, practical expertise, and drive for constant improvement have all played a key role in making Filter Sales & Service what it is today.

Tom Ouellet

Vice President

Tom Ouellet joined Filter Sales & Service in 1978 and later earned his MS in Finance from Boston College. With a strong foundation in both business and air filtration, Tom brings a strategic mindset to the company's leadership. His focus on smart growth, innovation, and long-term partnerships has helped move Filter Sales & Service into new markets and new possibilities.
